How To Measure Your Closet & Storage Areas

Displayed on either side you'll see examples of different style closets and storage areas. This should help you in determining your shape, and style of your closet.

Read the directions below for the proper ways to measure your closets for ventilated shelving. Installation of these shelves is relatively easy. And it's much easier when you have the right size shelves, so be sure to measure correctly.

Between Wall Closet: Measure the wall where the shelf will hang, then subtract 1" from that number.  This is the length that should be ordered.

One-SideWall Closet: Measure the wall where the shelf will hang.  This is the length that should be ordered.
You will need to order an extra support brace for the end of the shelf.

Face-of-Wall: You can order any length that will fit on the wall.  You will need to order 2 extra support braces for both ends of the shelf.

Walk-In Closets: Measure back wall and subtract 1".  Measure side wall and subtract the depth of the back wall shelf + another 1/2".
